Yes, I interviewed for a job in Hawaii. I would have accepted the offer if they offered a considerable amount more than what I was making at the time, but they said that they would basically only be able to match what I was making.
Apparently, salaries aren't really high there, regardless of cost of living.
ETA: I'm with everyone else wondering what your wife does that would hinder a move?
I'm in a similar situation where there aren't many job openings in my wife's field, which is why I took a job that allows me to work anywhere.
