So you hunt the whole time then right? That's a pretty solid chunk of the year. How many days a week do you hunt and how long usually? I'd assume you don't usually go for more than a couple hours?

I usually wait until around the first of Oct to trap a hawk. I can usually have them hunting before Nov. It's so hot early in the year, and so many leaves on the trees it makes hunting difficult. But I hunt from then through March, as long as it doesn't get too hot.

I really like to hunt 5-6 days a week. But, I've recently moved, and I don't know if I'm going to be able to find enough places close to my new house to hunt that many weekdays after work. The more you hunt with a hawk, the better they get.

Yeah, two hours is probably a pretty average hunt. I have probably hunted 4+ hours a few times, but that's rare. Each time the hawk catches something it gets a small amount of food as a trade off. So, after about 3 of those they can start losing interest in hunting. So, I've never gone for more than 3 in one hunt.
