I don't know how anyone can hate on Lavar. Dude is living it up and enjoying life. I think he's hilarious.
Well, you're dumb then. Its pretty easy to dislike him.

This seems like the most obvious answer, and it baffles me that it took this long to address it again
Because the Players Association/Union does not want High School kids taking their jobs. The union has switched sides on this it seems.

Personally, I think it hurts college basketball to eliminate the rule
College basketball already sucks and has for a long time. The only thing good about one and done was ruining kids ability to get an education and mature off of athletic scholarships when certain players Enter the draft and strike out.

College basketball is terrible for player development and that's why the g-league is a thing. Ben Simmons got worse by going to LSU

Would not be shocked at all if Cal bolts for the NBA soon now.

We're still Kentucky. We would still get the cream of the crop along with the other blue bloods.

How would this hurt Kentucky? All it would do is allow the top talent to go pro instead of one year in college. The top players would still go to the blue blood programs. That won't change.

I hope Lavar has a heart attack. I hate that ignorant cocksucker so much

Thank God. Hope the zero or two rule is what is implemented.

If you’re going to do the baseball model I hope they do 3 years like baseball does. I think that would definitely be best for the sport itself.

Because Cal won't stick around.

This is silly logic. He's been in basketball long enough to see it without the one and done rule. He's advocated for a long time for it to go multiple years. Just because he maximizes the current rule's potential doesn't mean he wouldn't like to have some of that top talent multiple years.

Our school has not been contacted by the FBI.

College basketball is terrible for player development
Is it terrible bc it naturally is, or is it terrible bc players are spending less time in college?

Back to the 90's and bust city for draftees.
Teams will go back to reaching for players based on AAU hype or whatnot straight out of high school.
One and done was lame for CBB but at least it gave NBA scouts some real film against real competition.
As opposed to the great college prospects like Adam Morrison, Joe Alexander ,Hasheem Thabeet , Anthony Bennett,etc.....? I can go on & on.
Of the roughly 40 High Schoolers drafted from '95- 2005 10 ( 25%) were All Stars / Future HOFers who need no introduction. Many others had solid careers( Al Jefferson, Harrington, Josh Smith, Kendrick Perkins, J R Smith, Monta Ellis , Dehawn Stevenson, Lou Williams, Amir Johnson & others)
Even the "reaches" like Eddie Curry , Kwame Brown , Darius Miles or Shaun Livingston had long( 10 plus years ) journeyman careers better than the 4 college busts I mentioned above. A Small sample size ,but High Schoolers had overall better success than their College counterparts.

That's a huge leap. Is Kentucky going to cut his pay? Why would he leave because of this rule change? He may leave if he wants to try his hand at the NBA again, but it won't be because of eliminating one and done.

Would they adopt the baseball model where the players could go to college if they couldn’t agree to terms with a team? Really don’t see any other way a 0 or 2 years rule would be better. You are going to have A LOT of players who aren’t close to being ready for the NBA declare just because they don’t want to commit to 2 years in college. I can’t imagine many 5 star players not going to the draft out of high school in this scenario.
A lot less talent in the college game, a lot more draft busts, and a bunch of players careers ruined before it starts because they thought they were good enough but go undrafted.
