If you're referring to the Urban Dictionary explanation, look at when that was updated. UD is kinda like Wikipedia. I remember looking Saturday and it was changed the day before.

I highly doubt it has any historical significance.

SJWs will soon claim that auctioneers used the term when they were selling slaves back in the day.

The Dilly, Dilly commercial is a stab at the fastest growing segment in alcoholic beverages (mead and honey wine).

Just as the “hard way” commercial series was a jab at craft beer. They are now using the 4 essential ingredients commercials to convince people that rice is a necessary component of beers. As opposed to craft beers stance that rice is simply a cheap filler.

There’s no historic significance.

Sammy Kaye - Lavender Blue (Dilly, Dilly) (1948) youtube

Think someone else posted it

And this LINK

quote:

Lavender Blue, also called Lavender's Blue, is an English folk song from the 17th century. It was featured in the Walt Disney movie "So Dear to My Heart," sung by Burl Ives.

Lyrics

Lavender's blue, dilly dilly, lavender's green,
When I am king, dilly, dilly, you shall be queen.
Who told you so, dilly, dilly, who told you so?
'Twas my own heart, dilly, dilly, that told me so.

Looks like it's primarily a nonsense word?
