Step 3 can you see New Orleans only 23 miles away on level flat ground?

So you were sleeping during the science period in 6th grade. Go stand on the shore of the ocean, find a ship sailing away, as the ship crossed the horizon it will start to disappear, the hull first and then the highest parts of the ship because the surface of the earth is curved.
