Just get the Taco. You won't regret. Most people dont need full size anyway. I had a full size f150 years ago. Nice truck. Was overkill. I have 107k on my 09 Taco double cab 4x4. I have over 20k miles just towing the boat. Never a problem.

You must not have read this thread. Overwhelming majority of people with plenty of regrets.

I had a 2015 F-150XLT double cab and traded it for a 17 Tacoma double cab. No regrets. The Ford was too big for my needs. It also didn't have a rear view camera and this made it difficult to maneuver in tight parking spots. I now have the Taco and it's loaded. First vehicle I've had with blind spot monitor and rear alarm for oncoming traffic. I commute 77 miles each way when working and I get 24MPG doing 75 on the highway. Rides great. I did like the Ford's ride but not enough to keep it.

Overwhelming majority on this thread, perhaps. I have an 18 foot mud boat that I pull fine. I see guys in huge pickups pulling similarly sized boats (and smaller) with full size trucks. The op asked for input. I gave it. I just believe the Tacoma is very capable. Not going to speculate on the quality comparisons between it and other full size trucks. I like mine and it works for me.
