Once a college football power, now down 35-0 in the 2nd quarter to Ohio State.

Nebraska was always overrated until their 3-5 year run in the 90s.

They would always be ranked in the top 5 going into the bowls and then lose in the Orange Bowl.

Osborne was like 2-8 in the 80s in bowl games...then he went full Sosa/Big Mac to compete and get over the hump. They scheduled trash and would then lose to quality opponents in other conferences.

Nebraska has always had a problem with speed and getting the better athletes.

It's all about coaching. We'll see how Frost does next year.

Scott Frost was such an obvious hire to bring excitement back but they went with the most uninspiring hire ever.

Bo shouldn't have been fired. When he was they need to gamble on a young up and coming star. Frost was so obvious being successful as Oregon OC and a Nebraska golden son. For some reason they hired a coach who ceiling in a 14 year career as a power 5 head coach was equal to Pelinis worst season. They need to fire Riley yesterday and call Frost.

They had some decent years with Bo and Martinez. By decent I mean more modern style of play and fun to watch.

It all started when they fired Frank Solich, a perennial 10 win coach.

They're right where they deserve to be.

Nebraska doesn't produce enough athletes in-state to be competitive. Back in the 70s and 80s they were able to get players from other states, many of them. As other schools put more resources into football, their recruiting dried up.

The rise of schools like Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Iowa, Wisconsin, etc has hurt Big Red
