President Trump is announcing plans Friday to decertify the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, saying it is no longer in the United States’ national security interest -- while kicking a decision over whether to restore sanctions back to Congress.
“It is time for the entire world to join us in demanding that Iran’s government end its pursuit of death and destruction,” Trump said in a statement released by the White House.

It was worthless garbage from the start and Iran has treated it as such from the start.

What's up with the Breitbart headline?
I'm usually with Bannon but he's a little nuts lately.

MEH no big deal.

President Trump declared Friday that the Iran nuclear deal is no longer in the national security interest of the United States, but stopped short of withdrawing from the Obama-era pact.
quote:
But Trump declined to completely abandon the 2015 agreement, which he derided as "one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into," or call on Congress to reimpose nuclear related sanctions on Iran that would hasten its demise. The decision is a compromise forged out of heated internal discussions about what to do with the nuclear deal between Iran, the U.S. and five other world powers.
quote:
Several top advisers — including national security adviser H.R. McMaster, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defense Secretary James Mattis — worried a withdrawal would enflame tensions with Iran and spark a regional crisis. They scrambled to come up with an alternative path that allowed Trump to send a message to Tehran without torpedoing the pact

Trump is not calling on Congress to impose sanctions on Iran for its nuclear activities something that would effectively remove the United States fro the deal.
ETA
quote:
Instead he is calling on Congress to pass new benchmarks Iran would need to meet in order to stave off nuclear-related sanctions in the future. That includes revisiting sunset provisions that allow Iran to ramp up uranium enrichment activity after 10 years.

If ever there was an endorsement for a flawed but ultimately productive framework. Old Joffrey and his followers oppose it.
Congress will preserve it in substance.

There's almost nothing left of Obama's legacy other than his 10 trillion in debt.

can we get all of our money and gold back? this is going to make Obama really flip out.

What exactly does a decertification of this do? I have not read the links or thread. I would guess it nullifies the treaty, but other than that what exactly does the USA get from this?
The cash payment is what bothers me the most.
