Help needed - losing too much weight on AIP

Hey baws, I need some nutrition advice. I'm on an Auto Immune Protocol diet, which essentially is paleo keto. I've lost 18 pounds over the last two months, and although I like the six pack, I fear that there are no signs of slowing down. Due to the high amount of vegetables on the diet, I find it hard to eat enough calories to sustain weight. Thoughts? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

AIP is miserable. Sorry your going through that.
18 lbs over 2 months isn’t uncommon but your body will adjust.
To sustain your weight loss I would suggest upping protein which will keep you more full longer, cooking with pecan oil and keeping fats high (avocados). Also, high fiber foods will do you some good.
Can add protein shakes with every meal If you aren’t eating a meat. Just watch for the artificial sweeteners & gums that are usually in protein powders.

Avocados and nuts are an easy way to add calories without stuffing yourself

I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks when I started keto. I wouldn't be worried about 18 in two months

i was going to say this. these are our good fats to pack on some non-empty calories.

Can you take protein powder? Add butter/oil to everything. As long as you get surplus calories you won't lose weight.

18 pounds in two months is standard. That is 2.2 lbs per week or so.

AIP protocol is no nuts/seeds of any kind.

What kind if autoimmune issue are you trying ward off? I tried AIP for a bit for AS, but switched to something different. Kudos for trying diet tho. All a rheumy wants to do is through a biologic at you it seems.

I have MS, trying to eventually get off of medication by sticking to the diet over time and in conjunction with doctors consent and enhanced monitoring. Thanks to all for the advice. Yeah I am not worried about the 18 lbs, more so that it seems to keep coming off and I don't want to lose more weight than I already have. I'll try to cook with more oils and fit in a couple extra avacados each day.
