Looking to start a new series. Was looking at John Le Carre (George Smiley) novels. Was thinking this, or getting back into the Mitch Rapp books from Vince Flynn.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Depends on what type of book you're looking to read. If you want a quick, fun read, go with Flynn.
Le Carre was a lot more difficult to get into for me. I had to be in the right frame of mind.

As a James Bond loving youth I hated Le Carre. As a cynical adult I love his stuff. He's an outstanding author, but very dark in his outlook.
I really enjoy Martin Cruz Smith's Arkady Renko's books for the same reason.

The thinking man's spy novelist:
The Spy Who Came In From The Cold (masterpiece);
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Smiley's People.
In that order.

Spy who came in from the cold is a masterpiece. Might have to go read it again.

John LeCarre's works are literature. Vince Flynn's are not.

Those have always been some of my favorite books.

I thought The Little Drummer Girl was really good.

Have not read Le Carre but Flynn and Mitch Rapp are all pretty damn good.
