It's Obama's fault.

it's also a reflection of consumer confidence (though I wish it reflected the fricking balance sheet)

but trump is done, just wait...2020. Puerto rico...because people care more about PRs than their wallet.

I love how that graph only shows Obama's last two months and ignores the insane growth of the stock market throughout his Presidency.

I love how this graph doesn't show the trend before the election. It also sets the x axis to be close to the lowest point in the last year to give an illusion of more growth. The market has been performing well, but this graph is fake news.

In May the WSJ said the market would fall bigly due to a correction during the summer. The summer is now officially over.

To think on election night all the hand wringing on the market collapsing due to Trump winning.

A correction will happen and the left will celebrate. Book it.

Anybody who knows anything about the stock market knows that it is doesn't make sense to compare small sets of data.

Look at the last 10 years instead:

Or the last 5

That doesn't paint the same picture as the OP. In fact, if you looked at 2008 til now, you'd think Obama righted the ship after the recession.

I'm not one to directly associate a President with market performance but, ya know, I will happily do this

I have to admit I missed the rise; I thought the market would decline regardless of whether Clinton or Trump were elected. I didn't think Trump had a chance in hell of winning and obviously I underestimated his positive business influence.
