How did we only sign 2 total DT's from 2014-2015?

And by the way, they're both gone now (Valentine and Lealaimatafao). All our big guys up front on defense signed in 2013, 2016, and 2017. That is a gaping hole left by the previous staff, before Ed Orgeron got here.

In no way does this post suggest Ed Orgeron is definitely the answer for LSU. I think it's way too early to tell.

Haley, Brick
Chavis, John

O was specifically brought in to undo the talent drain on the DL because our non DB defensive recruiting had flatlined with those two on staff.

3 DTs actually, Godchaux was 2014 and though listed as a DE on recruiting sites, was always gonna be a DT at LSU. still too few, and obviously he's gone too.

2015 is what really hurts, because we actually signed a good number of DT types in '13, '14, and '16. it's crazy how many are knuckleheads (Travonte, Trey Lay, Quay Bain, and Herron to an extent).

I didn't read thru everything so maybe this has been stated, but if we only recruited 3 DTs, that's on us. If we only signed 3, that's because some of those kids chose to go elsewhere

You tell the truth that this occurred under the eye of Less Miles and you get 5 down votes....

Com on Less Miles, Jr. you only get one down vote against the truth

chavis and haley screwed this defense big time. O was brought in and he has helped a lot on the DL while Aranda has begun to recruit LB's again. miles got complacent and was happy signing a thousand highly ranked db's and rb's thus giving him a top overall recruiting rating.

no one seems to acknowledge the facts that coach O inherited a mess in some damn important areas. their hate closes their minds.

We've always been stacked in the WR and secondary position...but Miles lack of recruiting quality big man on both sides of the ball including MLB as well as keeping the attrition levels down on the lines is haunting this team.

IDK, but somehow it has to be O's fault.

This was an issue and we brought in O 2 years ago to fix it. His 1st recruiting class is in its third year.

Honestly the line is hurt but we had a lot of DLMen hurt / unavailable the last couple of games.

I don't think most teams would fair well losing 4 DLinemen in a game.
