You can live like a fricking king at 100k. That's not middle class. I know your day to day expenditures will vary whether you have kids or not but 100k is upper crust middle class at the lowest rung.

The average HOUSEHOLD income in the US is $55k. An individual making double that is certainly not middle class.
In fact, $100k for an individual puts you in the 94th percentile.
