Backyard Buck...Need a ruling

So the house backs up to a strip of woods roughly 100 yds or so wide. Fenceline for next property is in woods and runs parallel with woodline behind house, which is parallel to backyard. Our neighborhood owns @ 30 yds deep of the woodline running down the back of the neighborhood.
Seeing as how I archery hunt only, was wondering the OB's thoughts on a lock on just this side of the property line, roughly 100 yds or so directly out the back door. Gives me a strip of 30 yds oof woods to hunt, but a perfect pinchpoint for bowhunting. I told mama all deer are off limits...but for one.
This is the one...I've named him "Brutus"

So et tu Brute or not?

Why use a lock on? I'd set up shop in the kids playhouse and shoot him from the clubhouse.

Rules are rules. Sorry. Can't shoot him. Shouldn't have told your wife that.

LOL Watched him last year late at night (1-2 am) feed on some corn we put out for the does that visit every evening.
These were the first pics of him we got this year. He's a 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 yr old, best guess. Probably @ 175 field dressed. He showed up two nights in a row this past week checking out does, even though the rut SHOULD be just over a month away. Good news is he showed up within an hour after dark, so he can't be bedding too far away. (1/4 mile or less IMHO) He was an 8 last year , but has put on mass and some tine length.
And FWIW...the set up..LOL

I don’t understand the question. You asking us if we’d kill him or if we’d tell our wife beforehand?
Just shoot him now from the porch light.

Shoot him! How could she be mad when she's enjoying a nice piece of backstrap?

Are you prepared for him to run 500 yards all over everyone else's property while spraying blood everywhere?

I'd give him the Ole Josey Wales if I had some Levi Garrett

Absolutely. Half my neighbors would probably help me load him into the cart. :)
Besides, out of over 60 plus deer I've killed with a bow I've never had one go farther than 120 yds. And most of those were killed before I switched to Grim Reapers, so no worries there. ;)
Anyone have any experience tracking one in bermuda grass? LOL

I don't like the tree you're set up in. Doesn't look sturdy enough to hold you.

Let him grow another year, you'll be glad you did

Step1: Call the power company and get a street light put in the back right corner.
Step2: Put up feeder under light and fill with corn.
Step3: Raise the window

If I didn't know for a fact that at least two guys are gun hunting the property that borders the neighborhood I would be so inclined.
Very inclined....

Favorite part about my childhood home was watching all the deer in the back yard at night. We never shot any at night but I did kill a few with my bow right out the back yard including a 11 point on Christmas Day that I have on my wall. He was chasing a doe across our yard. Our carport was around the back side of the house and when I was hunting I used to make my mom and dad park in the front yard by the street and use the front door to the house. It would ruin a hunt when the neighbors decided to come out and use a leaf blower, they would wave at me sometimes when I was in the stand. Now all the woods that held the deer is now another sub division. We still see a few at from time to time but nothing like it was when I was a kid.

Can't roll like that
Watched him feeding broadside on corn last winter a few nights....25 steps from the back windows of the living room. Not my way of doing things.
But hunting the woods right behind the house is a bit different. should make for interesting mornings in November when the hour long drive to the hunting land gets to be a hassle.
And the wind is right...that is.
