I'm new to fish in this area. Even though I've been living here for about 15 years. I'm from Houma and grew up fishing in cocodrie. Where fishing is easy. Any advice on season and tactics in the Slidell area would be much appreciated.

I'm having trouble posting this with my phone. But I'll try this edit/add on.

We finished everything from flat boat key down to door point. Water was great. Tide was moving. Bait evident in many spots. Threw live shrimp on top and on bottom. And plenty of artificial's. Nothing but hardheads and ladyfish with an occasional Spanish macral.

Sept. is usually an off month. I wouldn't get too discouraged by it. Early spring has been the best for me around that area.

Fish have already started their transition back to the marsh. IAP is more of an early summer pattern area as another poster said. Next time go through 3 mile cut and go south. More towards interior Biloxi Marsh. Might increase your odds a bit. I fished the Bob's Lakes area Labor Day Weekend and it was chock full of 10-11 inch trout. They're on the move.
