Where did you get your setup from?

Do you not have a burner already for crawfish and such? You can get the pot and lid much less expensively.
I thought I read that the banjo style burners are better for jambalaya pots.

You are correct. Jet burners are what you want/need for a boil.

I got it from Gary Matte's in Duson (on the I-10 frontage road)
I believe the entire set up was around $800-900...pricier than the options above, but I promise you will never be disappointed in this set up. you pay more for the burner/ stand but since it can handle a variety of pot sizes, you can have an arsenal of pots for 1 burner. if you notice the small 1/2" or so holes in the side, they allow you to put 2 rods across the burner to set a dutch oven on top of the burner as well.
I know Guidry's Hardware here in Lafayette also sells a similar product made by Hebert's Cajun Stove

Banjo style is way better. Much quieter and much better heat control. Unless you're talking about giant burners, they put out more heat than a jet as well at full blast. You can flow more gas through 100 1/4" holes than you can through 1 1/4" hole.

Galvez Hardware in Prairieville has those aluminum burners that tiddles posted.
They seem nice and are very light compared to conventional jambalaya burners.
