They get a lot of consideration because they drive a lot of the cost increases we have seen over the years.


No matter what is done in Washington the fact of the matter is that people get treatment for all kinds of conditions whether they can or will pay for that treatment. If you doubt this then please explain the number of medical collections that occur in the US every year. This is the 800 pound gorilla in the room. Every time a medical bill goes to collections those of us wh pay our medical bills pays more.....just like shoplifting drives up the costs of everything for everyone at Walmart. Those of us who pay our medical bills are either going to pay for those who won't or can't along with the cost of collections OR we can face reality and pay for their health care up front. We are going to pay either way.

It would, of course, be nice if people would simply not shoplift.....but they do and the rest of us pay.
