That was the worst game I've ever watched LSU play in my life.

First and foremost I come in Peace, I'm not coming here to troll or poke fun of any aspect of the LSU Football Program.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I can give y'all a view from an outsider looking in. I know y'all have probably already beaten this topic to death but this is the first day I've posted in about week. I'm from the coast, so I grew up watching LSU games and I have a good amount of friends who are attending LSU right now, I received a scholarship to attend my undergrad at Ole Miss that I couldn't turn down. I watch every LSU game of every season, I still am a huge LSU fan even though I go to Ole Miss.
I'll break it down by position so it'll be easier to follow.
Quarterback:
Danny Etling
CMP - 13
ATT - 29
YDS -v137
TD - 0
INT - 0
QBR - 10.2
I've seen my fair share of shitty LSU QB play but Etling is simply not an SEC caliber QB and he will not cut it at LSU. His throws downfield were abysmal, he couldn't hit shite, it was infuriating. I saw an article that said Etling was only pressured on 8 of his first 22 drop backs. for the performance he turned out that is completely unacceptable. I truly believe that it is time for y'all to give Myles Brennan a shot at running this offense because LSU won't put up a point against any team with a competent defense.
Running Back:
Derrius Guice and Darren Williams both averaged over 5 yards a carry against Mississippi State yet they only rushed a combined 20 times. This is one of the only times I thought, why in the hell is LSU trying to throw the ball with this shite arse QB when their RBs are killing it even against a stacked box.
Wide Receivers:
They played downright awful, 90% of the time they were in single man coverage and still couldn't get any separation. When they did get separation they either dropped the ball or Etling sailed the ball out of bounds. Russel Gage has no business being on the field when y'all have players like Derrick Dillion, Stephen Sullivan, Drake Davis and Jacoby Stevens at your disposal.
O-Line:
I don't know the specific players when it comes to the line but they looked pretty bad in pass protection, they didn't look bad to my viewing in run blocking for the most part.
D-Line:
Already short Rashard Lawerence and Frank Herron the interior of the Defensive Lines already spread thin, then with the ejection of the other guy it just absolutely killed depth. There was no pressure at all on Fitz, but I also understand that you can't be over aggressive with your pass rush because Fitz can run. Either way the pressure was awful and Arden Key looked like complete arse, he is fat. That is was happens when your Head Coach lets a star player have free reign and go on a 5 month sabbatical.
Linebackers:
Devin White is the best player on LSU's defense, he was all over the field. I was really excited to watch Donnie Alexander this year but so far he has been quite underwhelming, it may be time to let Tyler Taylor step in and have more reps. Chassion didn't look bad from what I say, I think him and Corey Thompson switch out depending on what package is being used. State just didn't miss their blocks at all, it looked at least to me that LSU was in position to stop nearly every running play at the LB position.
Defensive Backfield:
It looked to me like Donte Jackson got pulled for Kevin Tolliver, I thought outside of one play when KT got sucked up on the inside of an outside run that Tolliver looked impressive as everyone expected him to be when he came to LSU. Greedy Williams didn't play his best game but I didn't think he looked too bad, he will be a very good one for LSU. Ed Paris played bad and was single handily at fault for a TD on the 3rd and 1 in the 3rd Quarter. If we are being completely honest LSU's Safeties were undisciplined and were the main reason for the passing breakdowns, Paris and John Battle were complete liabilities. I couldn't find much on Grant Delpit, so I assume he didn't play too bad, he is another young LSU player who will be a very high draft pick one day.
Matt Canada:
From the 3 games that I've watched it looks like Canada may be a complete fraud or he has no trust in Danny Etling to make the throws required to open up his playbook. I guess time will tell, looked like the same Offensive scheme to me with a bunch of pre snap movement.
Dave Aranda:
Hands down one of the best coordinators in the Nation, everyone has one of those days. I remember watching a post game interview with Devin White and he said they they knew every play they were running they just didn't execute on defense.
Ed O:
I was completely against this hire, still am and will always be unless he proves me wrong. I can't believe that there was actually LSU fans who willingly wanted Ed O as a coach. Y'all need to kick that sad POS AD to the curb, he is worthless. Y'all are LSU, you don't bargain shop for a head coach of a Top 10 Powerhouse...what an imbecile.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was at the game in Starkville and I wore one of my old LSU shirts, it was embarrassing. LSU deserves better than the current administration that they have now. I wish y'all the best the rest of the season, LSU holds a special place in my heart. I grew up watching and going to games, it would break my heart to watch such a great place and program fall to mediocrity because of the "leaders" in charge.
I hope to see a bunch of LSU fans in Oxford this year, its always fun to see y'all up here.

the bright side is we might be able to retain Aranda at the end of the season after performances like that

frick you Reb.
If you dumb fricks wouldn't have hired him first back in 05 he never even gets this gig interim.
It's your fault so eat dicks and die

Is that you BugaPainTrain?

Correct
I don't believe LSU could have played more poorly if it had tried to do so.

Pretty spot on assessment other than the horrible calls against us. It's as if the sec wanted Moo St to win with the way they called the game. We had to score three times to get one. The first targeting was correct. The second one was a penalty but not an ejection. The make up call against Moo for illegal pick was as bad as the original one against us. That shows me, and I've been watching lsu for over 45 years, something's up with the officiating. You know in the big scheme of things (SEC), the more teams in the top 10 the better, especially if it's a team that's been below average for several years. We had some momentum early and the refs snuffed it out and the bull dogs took advantage of that. Great game by them. They have a Tim Tebow type qb, good hard runners and a stingy defense. Hope they go ndefeated the rest of the way.

It was pretty bad. I'll say it was the worst game since 1999 when Dinardo and Tepper were putting the finishing touches on a once proud program earlier in that century. I will argue that the 41-7 loss to Auburn that year may have been even worse. Auburn had a losing record that year and LSU trailed 24-0 after 1 quarter.

Adjusting for expectations, it's up there.
1/9/12 was extremely disappointing but all of us knew that Alabama was capable of doing that. And it was the NC. And it was our second time playing them in the same season.

Hi Buga, what is this alter #9?
Your stats say he was 13-29. He was sacked twice. That's 31 drop backs, not 22. But I agree that he's awful and not an SEC caliber qb. Some fans have realized this long ago. The one's that haven't are just delusional optimists.
This is extremely accurate, esp about Gage
2 wr sets won't cut it in the SEC. But in his defense he knows how bad his qb is. This isn't the offense he ran last year but he had an NFL draft pick under center. It's especially humorous to me when the linemen and tight end motion opposite of each other pre snap and the defense doesn't so much as move or adjust at all.

You are very young. I lived through all the coaches dating back to Charles Macclendon. I have seen plenty of games that were worse. I don't blame Coach O. Everyone wanted a coach that would hire great coordinators and let them do their jobs. Matt Canada inherited a receiving core void of experience and short on talent. He inherited an offensive line so short on depth that he is being forced to rely on true freshman. Danny is throwing the ball much better this year. But he has no protection and his receivers cannot get separation and then drop the balls that hit them in the hands. This is Canada's first SEC game.Give him and Coach O a break. How many penalties were legit?

haven't seen a whole lot of LSU games, have you?

I see both sides. the melting is legit, appears we were sold a bill of goods and it doesn't look close to what we bought. At the same time, its 1 freaking game- Conclusion- Lets see how this shakes out and if get another beating, the writing is on the wall.

O will never recover from what happened Saturday night.

This is 100% BugaPainTrain7, and I can prove that if I did just a little digging.
Wait...you claimed to be an LSU insider for so long. Now you are giving us a view from the "outside looking in?"
You went to high school in Baton Rouge...and daddy is paying for you to go to Ole Miss.
GTFO with this bull shite

This is my issue with the knock against Etling. yes, he's an average QB, but our WRs don't get separation, run lousy routes and can't catch. Throw in poor pass protection which, even though QB pressure may not look as bad, they allowed themselves to get pushed back into the QB which prevented him from being able to step up.
Throw in a very vanilla route tree and I think most QBs are going to struggle. Maybe we need a new QB, but we DEFINITELY need better WR coaching.
