Rams drew 56,612
Chargers drew 25,381 (home opener! Capacity of 30k)
Combined NFL attendance = 81,993
USC-Texas attendance = 84,714
I know you guys love these threads.

I honestly feel like the NFL forced the move to LA.
Los Angeles could give 2 shits about the NFL.

If not for fantasy I couldn't watch a random game.
I can get into a good college matchup.
Of course, there are a lot more teams in CFB to make good matchups

I definitely wouldn't have thought a College marquee matchup would outdraw two mediocre pro teams.

You have to be pretty hard pressed for entertainment to go to a Rams game.

Just my opinion but I think the Raiders would've done better in L.A. than the Rams or the Chargers will do.

Lakers would draw 100,000 in LA if they had an arena that big.
ETA: I don't get the point of this thread.

8-10K were dolphin fans

Might be at least a third Dolphins fans here so far. So there might be legit 15,000 Chargers fans at their L.A. debut.
Rams crowd

Yes. Raiders should be in LA. NFL found a way to screw it up.

Another insecurity thread from the CFB fanboys
Posted on 9/17/17 at 7:12 pm to Ssubba
NFL > CFB
I mean seriously guys.
Yesterday's CFB was stale as fuuuuck.
How awesome and exciting and drama filled and nerve wracking and playoff implying(probably not the right saying lol) was the NFL today?!
CFB yesterday can't even compete.
NFL IS KING.

It made sense for me for the Rams to move (even though I felt bad for St. Louis fans), but I thought two teams, especially when one of the the was the Chargers was dumb.
Obviously a small sample size and this is a long-term decision and who knows what will happen in the future, but I admit I kind of like seeing the relocations off to a bad start. Chargers belong in San Diego.

Not very surprising. Huge CFB matchup and 2 dogshit LA teams without much local support yet.
Posted on 9/17/17 at 7:22 pm to StrongBackWeakMind
The Chargers had no fans left in SD before they left. It was like an away game 16 games per year for them.
Not surprising at all that only ~15k showed tonight

Rams were fine being moved to L.A.
Chargers should've stayed in San Diego

Sucks for the true San Diego and Rams fans but I understand both moves.
Will take some time for the fanbase to build up.

Not really - Raiders won the Super Bowl upon their move to Los Angeles and every game was blacked out.
The Raiders had 32,000 people in December on the 2nd to last game when they were fighting for AFC #1 seed.
The largest crowd the Raiders got in 1983 was 57,000 (which honestly is a sell-out in every other NFL stadium but not the LA Coliseum.)
There's a reason the NFL doesn't build stadiums the size of college. They would never ever ever sell-out.
I'm pretty sure the people of L.A. would have survived just fine getting their football fix from USC and UCLA...
The NFL has constantly forced the issue on L.A. and L.A. has constantly said, we don't care. It's a Laker town first, Dodgers 2nd, USC third, NFL team last.
This year the Dodgers passed the Lakers a little but that's only because of their record. It's still a Laker town.
quote:
The Dodgers are more popular than the Lakers, for the first time in the four years a Loyola Marymount survey has asked Los Angeles County residents to identify their favorite pro sports team.
The Dodgers got 36% of the vote and the Lakers 35%, making each team more than four times as popular in Los Angeles as any other local team.
But they're close and draw huge attendance even if they suck. L.A. is sort of like the East Coast in that respect.
It's baseball and basketball.
