IDK. It just appears that the current approach is to enable the disorder from the professional community.
I have read some articles where for instance the director of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins shut down transgender surgery after they discovered that the rate of suicide did not decrease for trannies that received surgery. So I guess some professionals are taking the "right" approach.
