I have been going to Illinois bow hunting for 10 years now. I normally go Nov. 9th-18th and have a lot of rut activity. This year there will be 7 other guys hunting that week.

The place is 650 acres total with roughly 200 acres woods (people who have hunted Illinois understand the timber layout).

My question is should I go a week earlier (Nov. 4th-12th) to be by myself but possibly less rug activity or go my normal week with the higher number of people?

Go when you have your choice of stands and the deer arent being pressured. That's an easy one.

Also, the fact that people generally suck would affect my decision.

Can you go a week later or does the landowner have gun hunters coming then?

What part of Illinois?

A 650 acre farm is big enough to bow hunt 8 guys, especially during the peak of the rut IMO. With that being said, there won't be much difference hunting a week earlier. The big boys are usually wide open during the first and second weeks of November.

I enjoy the first week of November, lots of bucks on their feet cruising. Also, the crazy part of the rut still hasn't started so bucks might be more easily patterned checking bedding areas and food for does. We're located mid state below pike county.

We are going to be up there that first week, I think you'd see good action then. Any time after 10/28 bucks seem to be on their feet
