Considering selling real estate, part time to start. I've been in sales and understand it means long hours, and that's okay. I did outside sales for years and looking to supplement my income, and then go full time if successful.

Anyone have any experience working this market? It really seems hit or miss. ( but gaining strength post flood)

Thanks!

Advertise on bus stop benches. You will have no problem getting people to sit on your face.

I got this cool girl that does all my selling and finds me properties to buy.

I use her because she consistently advertises.
Her website shows web views of the properties.
She shows me how to stage my properties when I want to sell them and finds people who do this.
Everything I listed with her sold in days.
She also finds me homes that need some work in areas I am willing to flip or rent homes. I get to the home or property before other people to make a fair offer.

Yeah, I pay for that service which I am fine with it. I get a value for what she does.

Between the farm, trying to retire from hardware store & repair centers, managing my rental properties, and fishing I just don't have time to hunt down properties to buy.

If you're female, be prepared to ride your clients to seal the deal.

The market is really good. In my experience very few agents are aggressive and hunt down business. Most wait for the business to come to them. Most of the agents I work worth want me to call them if I find something. I want agents to hunt down properties for me. So if you come with the mindset of finding the property for your client, I think you can do well.

I have my realtors license but I only use it to list the homes I build and to help friends here and there. I can tell you that it's a sellers market right now.

I was in real estate from age 22-26. I did 2.3 million my first year. It requires a lot of networking, pulling duty(weekends), and patience. If you're in sales already, why not find another full time sales gig that pays more vs. trying to do real estate part time?
