dont buy anything coleman, etc.

Eureka or Kelty will be your best value, as they are good tents that are easy to setup and mostly weatherproof. REI is also a good value.

The biggest thing on those trips is that you're comfortable and there is nothing more uncomfortable than a leaking tent and soaked sleeping bag. Coleman and the like arent weatherproof.

No tent is weatherproof without some additional work. Best thing you can do once you buy the tent is set it up in your backyard and put a good seam sealer on all the seams. Couple coats and leave it out for a day or two before you pack it back up. A little bit of prep before you take it out goes a long way.

Also make sure to get a good ground tarp to place under the tent
