Relocating to another state for a new job and the company is offering me a relocation incentive. What does this include? Gas, hotel, uhaul, food, etc?

Pretty much every single thing related to the move.
Materials, boxes, etc
Labor
Truck rental
Food and lodging in route.
Sometimes even towards damaged items.

Its just a form of extra pay. You can do whatever the hell you want with the money.

My job gave me relo to move.
Usually a third party helps you in any way you need getting resources.
My relo was 6500 at the time. Make sure you ask if you get any extra for having a "spouse." Girlfriends count as they don't know you are not married and wont check.
Got an extra 1500 for that
They cut me a flat check + taxes. Obviously if you are moving a long way you will use most of it, but I used mine to get from Tyler TX to DFW and as a deposit on a apt. Still had quite a bit left over.

Last time I got moving expense paid for (company wise not IRS) we claimed everything. Gas, food, temporary lodging, Uhaul, paying for movers). Probably check with HR before you go and do something like that though

If the company is paying for it, why would you get a uhaul? Get a moving company

I'm in the same boat, they said they'd help out just give them a number and I have no idea what an appropriate number is. I'd be moving from Lafayette to the woodlands, so I was thinking 3000.
