Cincinnati Style Chili - Beans or No?

Making this tomorrow for the first time to climb that mountain. Recipes I've found are split on beans. I realize it boils down to personal taste, but wanted to consult F&D expertise from those who have made it for their opinion.

Chili does not have beans.

Btw, do not look up "beans in the chili" on Urban Dictionary...

I don't know much about it, but it looks like canned kidney beans are among the traditional optional toppings (along with shredded cheddar cheese and diced onions).

The beans aren't in the chili.

Always go with the five way. Add hot sauce. Oyster crackers on the side.

For coneys, just the chili with mustard, onions, and cheese. And oyster crackers on the side.
