Legit question: Can the school administration actually ban the students from displaying the flag? Constitutionally, I mean.
Probably so, long standing Supreme Court rulings confirming that students do not enjoy their full first amendment rights while at school.
So, while banning flags on vehicles may be stupid, it's probably legal.

Kind of off topic but I heard someone make an anology the other day about sanctuary cities. Basically you have these big metropolitan sanctuary cities in some weird sense of irony trying to secede or pull away from what they consider the heavy hand of the federal govt in regards to immigration policies and they are arguing that they should be left alone to govern their own affairs. The irony is they are making some of the same arguments the South made 150 plus years ago, while at the same time trying to pull down statues of men who actually fought and died as a result.

Yes.
Schools have a LOT of leeway. Kids and the school environment is not treated the same as adult joe public on the street.
Courts have always treated schools differently - free speech isn't absolute - depending on the effect it has on maintaining order and structure in the learning environment. Whether it's banning gang colors, offensive t-shirts, requiring uniforms in public schools, etc.

Its also a bastion for Somalians who are radicalized Muslims.
Well they have allies in the White Guilt Progs that dominate the area. They too want to destroy the foundation of the West so it works out.

Yes, and they should retain that option.

This is a good learning lesson that students can find free street parking and not be a victim of fascism

Case law is mixed. Tinker v Des Moines would favor the students.

I wouldn't want them to but I would guess so. Public schools limit free expression in several other ways.

You could also argue that for the amount of money they pay to attend that they can fly a flag if they want.
Not if they signed a contract saying they would follow the handbook and the handbook says they can't. Like I said, public school is wrong for this and it should not be in the public school handbook but if it were private, they should be able to discipline the kids.
