Ages ago we stayed there shortly after it reopened and were shocked that the bill included an unannounced 30% gratuity for all the things we might have done (but didn't) but it was on just because.

That's how my dad felt too. He stayed for some conference he was part of. Enjoyed the place but said it was geared more towards family vacations. He wasn't going to take advantage of kayaks and bikes like we do. There should be an option for folks that just want a nice room and pool.
