I mean if he gets paid once a month on the 1st I probably wouldn't set my statement due date for the 30th of the month.

The due date is setup based on when the account was created. There is absolutely no reason you shouldn't change the due date to something that makes the most sense for you.

I kinda like the 1st of the month. It is like having the waxing pulled at once with the mortgage going out at the same time.
