Like firemen or welders always feel the need to tell what they do for a living without you asking?

Do they? Maybe I need to get out more because that's never happened to me.

I think most insurance salesman do this... i dont know if it is part of their marketing or what, but i do not find this career to be interesting or exciting to discuss when in a social setting.

I know people in both of these fields, and have never known them to just come and tell anyone what they do for a living.
In fact, I can't think of anyone that would just haul off and tell you what they do without being asked.
Maybe you just know a bunch of arrogant jackasses.

Fire doesn't melt metal. Someone must be planting explosives. Haven't you read enough 9/11 threads here?

Did a fireman welder sleep with your wife/GF?

You mean like Engineers?
They're like the crossfit of careers.

Name recognition is everything to insurance salesmen. It's not that hard to figure out.

Yep! Metal that's used to construct objects is magic and bends by itself.

Never met on, usually the people I meet that feel a need to tell everyone what they do are lawyers, CPA's, or career politicians

I agree that tons of insurance salespeople do this. (Im about to break my rule) Many insurance companies tell their agents to tell everyone they meet about what they do. While that may work for some it comes off as pushy. I'm in insurance sales and never bring it up to friends or people I meet. There are enough ways to get clients than telling everyone you know what your job is.

I have noticed it seems to be the newly hired firemen that are gung-ho with the talk and stickers and shite.
The firemen that have been on the job a few years are pretty quiet about it and most seem to make double their income with their side jobs.
