I do agree she shouldn't be trusted, but Jon is trying to build allies everywhere.

BTW, it's killing me- I did ep 7, and am avoiding any reference to 8. First time I have succumbed to such things as leaks. I don't think I will do it again.
Without giving anything away, I think it's safe to say this will be much discussed... and it's damn near impossible to do so right now. I ABSOLUTELY don't want to know anything about the finale until a few days worth of chatting with those who are caught up.

I really wish the writers came up with a better plan than the whole Capture a Wight plan. So contrived and horrible. They could've come up with SOMETHING to send them north

I feel like they should have just used the wall coming down to rally everyone. Assuming it comes down in the show.
If they prove to Cersei and Jaime that the army of the dead is real, isn't it possible they just say "so, there's a big wall, problem solved"?
I'm pre-frustrated at this episode. Not really excited because I'm not sure anything good will come from this plan. Which by the way, they don't even have a plan. Just "go get one".

Pretty simple. I think they should not decide to wander off north of the wall to try and capture a wight. The logistics of it makes it a fricking terrible, terrible plan.
This started with the gang wanting to hit the pause button on the Lannister war. A FAR better idea would have been to try and arrange a simple meet between either a) high ranking representative said of both parties, or b) a meeting between the queens and Jon.
The matter of fact-ness of "this is by far he best plan we could come up with, never mind it was the first idea" didn't help.
ETA: Not a book reader but now know that brining a wight to KL was attempted in the cannon. The way it was proposed in the show is dumb.

I think this is more about convincing everyone else other than Cersei at this point. It's pretty obvious to us and all of those around her in the show that she is hell bent on war. Granted, Dany, Jon & co. don't know this but if they can convince Jaime, Qyburn, etc. that the real war is up North, they may be able to convince her. If not, Jaime will just kill her for the greater good of their existence.
