Coach speak to motivate the entire QB room. He has given Myles so much love he has to share the love. The team can not afford another depature at QB. We are barely going into spring with 3 QB's. It is not out of the realm of possibility that someone leaves before next spring.

We don't have a clear option at QB for this or next signing class.

This is not an ideal situation. With next year's lack of experience on deck. DE is the clear starter O wants to and needs to win bigly this year. Some of the fan support is on on a 90 day trial basis.

I think he has been very impressive thus far.

Yup....

I haven't read the whole thread, but don't you think most of you are reading that quote wrong? "Right there for #2"....

If that's what he said that doesn't mean shite. Doesn't say he is #2, doesn't say he is # anything... it says he is competing to be the #2, which everyone not named Etling is doing. This is what 704 said above, can't keep having the media sucking Brennan's dick and giving no love to Narcisse or he is gonna go too. Keep everyone happy.

I would think it'd be best to play a true freshman at QB this year. LSU hasn't lost more than 5 games since the 90s. We've had some awful passing seasons through this time. With a likely top 10 defense and heisman runner in Guice, why not lean on a talented younger guy and also prepare him for next year? What's the real difference between winning 8-10 games in the modern age? A redshirt Junior in Etling won 8 of 11 games and seeing how he looked vs Auburn, Bama, and UF, we would have still lost vs Wisconsin's elite defense. We've heard and seen nothing in the offseason that points to him getting better either.

Who Ed? Etling? Neither has been impressive (well Ed hasn't had a real season yet so he's TBD), what are you basing this on?
