t I personally would have loved seeing how Harris would do under Canada

Harris is a great kid and I wish him the best at UNC but he isn't an SEC caliber QB. I don't care about shitty lines or being pressured, he couldn't make routine passes.

That could definitely be true. It's hard to tell without seeing what was going on in practice. Sometimes accuracy can be fixed with footwork and repetitions. If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on Harris wasn't getting enough pass reps needed in practice to improve much. Yes, he was starting, but obviously we all know that Miles was run heavy. It was also an outdated system that doesn't fair well against teams with a strong pass rush and front seven. You can't expect an o-line to hold for 4+ seconds while the QB drops back from center anymore. The game has changed. It's all about quick drops and releases nowadays. That explains why LSU lost all four games against Top 10 defenses they faced last season.

He was most definitely "SEC caliber", just in the wrong offense being taught by incompetents. SEC caliber QBs is nonsense talk anyway. This isn't 2007 it's 2017. Dobbs played worse than Harris until his final year where he put up 3800+ yards and 38 TDs. Sims was moved to RB for Bama for 2 years then started (his only year) at QB his final year putting up 3800 yards and 35 TDs.

In my opinion, we should have let Harris ride out his bad game. He was awful against Wisconsin, who finished 4th in scoring defense and 7th in total defense, and had a bad start going 1/4 vs Jacksonville St, but Etling went 6/14 vs that exact same team and threw an int.

Seemed like Miles was just trying to do anything to stop the bleeding. I feel like he was pulled away to early. He actually scored vs Bama and UF the previous year, and when Ensminger did his little tweaks after Miles was let go, it would have worked out better for Harris (they passed downfield a good bit with Etling).

Harris is going to put on a show at UNC while Etling will struggle to be more than average (if he can even hold on to the job all year).
