I don't think I've ever changed my own oil for less than a 5 minute place charges.

Got to look for the monthly specials. I got 6 quarts mobil 1 high mileage and a nice filter for $34 last week.

I buy all my oil in January from Autozone. Rarely pay more than $1 a quart.

Wait what?

Do they do something specific? I have a lot of oil to change throughout the year between all my engines

Need a quick oil job. Normally always use synthetic and wait till light comes on

Another thing is if you are using full synthetic you can run longer than the duration of your change oil light. That light is based on calculations using recommended oil. Most guys I know can run at least 10-15k miles on full synthetic before changing.

They close out all slow selling product for cheap.

I empty every autozone within 30 miles or so of everything I use for different vehicles.

Saves me 3-400 bucks a year and actually makes for a pretty fun scavenger hunt

Damn seriously? That's wild. The Extended Performance ones I use are usually around $7-$9 per quart.

I don't trust a $9/hr worker to change the lifeblood of my truck.

I've been burned twice with leaks & crossthreads. .. never again... I also know exactly what goes into my vehicles. Also, I wouldn't trust them to fill any other fluids..

Let's say I drain your oil. Overnight. I then fill your motor with a solvent solution. Drain that. I fill your motor with oil. Drain that.

I then put the reccommended amount of oil in with a new filter... The second your oil pump spins, your oil is now brown.

I can get one of my friends to check the oil capacity of that 3.5 with a full engine rebuild, but I'd be willing to bet 2-3 quarts are undrainable with a standard oil change.

Just run 0w40 m1 from Wal-Mart bapple. Meets your spec and is $22 per 5.1 qt.

Or be anal and hunt oil deals

My son's 370Z was losing oil a week after an oil change at a Nissan Dealer running a special. He wanted to look around under the car himself. We drove it up on ramps, dropped the lower engine splash shield, and there we saw it. The oil drain plug had started to work its way out and was almost half way out. It must have been just finger tight when the tech finished his job. He also left half of the shield fasteners and bolts off as well.
I called them, they apologized and sent us only a coupon for a discount. LOL

He changes his own oil now.

I just set a reminder for Jan 1.

Between both engines on boat, bike and three cars that will hopefully save me at least a bill even if i only get a little.

Between oreilys, autozone, advanced, and Napa, you shouldn't be paying that. They always have 5 qts and a filter for $30 somewhere with good stuff.

Not entirely true based on my observation. Maybe I should re phrase.

For example, in this case the 2nd time they refilled the oil I cranked my engine and gave it some gas. The oil came out much more "translucent" than the first time. Still a little brown but within reason. The shite that I saw the 1st time was like black. It looked like old oil. No joke.

It cost $26.88 plus tax at Walmart for 6 quarts of Motorcraft 5W20 Syntetic Blend oil and a Motorcraft filter for my F150

I've change my ecoboost multiple times with mobile 1 synthetic and it's never been dark color after cranking and checking again. It will be a little darker but not by what you describe. Benny's is full of chit. It takes 10 mins to change. It's worth the reassurance.

I've put a fumoto valve on my 3.5 Eco, so it takes like 20 minutes to drain. But even before it drained slow as shite. My jeep, I just put a 5 gallon bucket under and it drains in about 20-30 seconds, 7 quarts.

If I feel like making a slight mess, pulling the filter at the same time on the f150 drains it faster.
