"Leaving all options on the table" is not a threat

BS.

When the President of the most powerful nation in the history of man says he is considering "military options" when he is asked about a country he is making a threat.

What the hell is our obligation in Venezuela? What threat does Venezuela poise to the USA?

It's time we reign in these war mongering President we have had the last 50 years.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to declare war. The President, meanwhile, derives the power to direct the military after a Congressional declaration of war from Article II, Section 2, which names the President Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.

The National Security Act of 1947 I believe makes that section of the constitution basically null and void. I'm all for changing that but as it stands now the president can do whatever he wants with the military for up 30 or 90 days or something like without even bothering to talk to congress.

He didn't say he was "considering" anything.

It's not a threat. Go wipe your arse.
