I can't believe I always get downvotes for correctly identifying snakes on here.

Dekay's and Garters can look similar, as this one does. But it's a garter.

I'm going with teague on this one because of the head and the scale pattern on the side of the head (though you can only see a glimpse of it).

Yea garter was my first thought but I've never seen one with the stripes completely obscured. And it looks sort of fat for a garter. But the person who took the pic estimates that it was around 18 inches which would be long for a brown. It was taken in Mobile County, Al.
