Kid in the article was 15. Pedophiles go after prepubescent children. There are some cases of priests going after children, but the vast majority they're going after teen males. That is not pedophilia that is homosexuality.

You must not personally know many gay people. It's wrong to lump all homosexuals into a category of perverse, sexual deviants. The majority are no more different than the average, constantly horny straight male. They just like to dip it in the dookie chute.

You're right it's not all of them, but within the sort of stereotypical gay counterculture it is a very real thing for an older guy to take a younger guy under their wing so to speak. It's an unspoken thing but it's real.

Meh' I would argue that you have a lot of gay people that enter the ministry, catholic, Protestant, whatever, trying to pray away the gay. They start with good intentions, but you can't change who you are. The stigma against gays forces all this hidden stuff.

Pedophilia is sexual attraction to prepubescent children. These priests are going after mostly teen males. Empirically, there is not a problem with pedophilia in the catholic clergy, there is a problem with homosexual activity.
