Frankie and Johnnie's

Not only do they do thick cut onion rings, but they give you thick cut battered and fried green peppers

Being an onion ring fanatic, I've still never found any like they used to make at Danny's Fried Chicken - they still have a location in Morgan City but my addiction isn't that bad!

rings

Sad to hear Popeye's has gone the frozen route. I always loved theirs. Lee's Hamburgers has onion rings that I think are very similar to the recipe Popeye's used to use.

Theres also a location in Houma. Before Rita there was one in Chauvin too, it was treat to get some chicken from there when i would spend a week or two at my Maw Maws house just a few blocks away.

Southside Cafe - Slidell

I long for a grilled yellow-fin sandwich and an order of onion rings with mojo sauce.
