That does not fit the bill for an optimally performing military.
how many people that suffer from depression are going to join the military? how many are going to make it through physicals? that's such a shallow argument. if a competent male can get the job done, why do you give a shite if he feels like a woman inside?

other than your complete disdain for a lifestyle which you find disgusting and immoral

That is not the argument. But it was a good try. This is an individual who wants to act on their feelings and physically transform their body. If they do, so be it. Just do not commit the military to pay for it. Complete the process and then enlist.

Umm...If he feels like a woman inside he is mentally ill and possibly can not be relied upon in life or death situations. Why take a chance on someone with that mental weakness?

It's a needless burden and risk to place on the military, and I'll disagree in that I don't find that a shallow argument at all.

I don't know that I ever said I find transgendered people disgusting or immoral, so I'd thank you not to put words in my mouth. If you want my honest feelings on the matter, not that they are the least bit relevant to this discussion at all, it's that I pity these people as I would most who have some form of mental illness.
