Hard 8 is popular. I'm not a Pecan Lodge fan. Lockhart not a bad option either as someone has already said and Bishop Arts is a cool neighborhood.

Slow Bone is very good, haven't seen anyone mention it.

Try the jalapeño cheese sausage at Meat U Anywhere.........it's legit. I really like their brisket as well and the beef ribs look amazing on insta.
Their sides are lacking IMHO.......but the meats are damn good.

Lived on Peggy Sue's back in the 90's. Underrated for sure.

Nice. I'll definitely try it. Sides are kind of why I'm not huge on pecan lodge. None of their sides are great and every side at mike Anderson's is really good (along with their pulled pork and chopped beef sandwich). Plus pecan's sausage is really bad. Their jalapeno sausage tastes like dried out ground hamburger. But their beef rib and fried rib are great.
And if you want good jalapeno sausage hit up Rudolph's meat market and get their smoked sausage. It's amazing grilled.
