Official O-T baller answer is you should have stomped him. You scared of a shite Tzu owner, baw?

Real answer is if he was just yelling from the property line, apologize once, and then ignore him. If he comes on you property, take a bat to him. Calling the cops--I don't think you did any body any good there. You were in a tough spot with your kid and guests around.

As far as the future, get a Rottweiler. I guarantee you that no shih Tzu owner is going to holler at you from the property line if you are holding back a barking Rottweiler by the collar.

Kept talking amongst my guests and completely ignored the guy without responding to him at all.

Let me postulate how this went down. There was a little chatter among your guest about the cruelty of those two precious little pets being chained in the heat all day. You or your wife told them "not just today but all the time."

Your MIL decides she is going to go over and give the little fellas some much deserved affection but probably with the unspoken intent of hoping the owner comes out so she can dress him down a bit about the cruelty.

The owner comes out and asks her to stay away from the dogs and she gives him some backhanded comment about the dogs living conditions and questions him as to why the little precious pets were outside in the heat on chains. The man loses his shite because some nosy bitch from a party next door has intruded on his property with what he perceives as the sole purpose of having a confrontation.

That is what really happened.

Avoiding that scenario is why you call Animal Control.

I had neighbors like that man... Thank god they moved out a couple years ago now. But about 6-8 months before they moved, I went through the whole trespassing thing with them. I had to go in their yard for maybe 30 seconds around 8-9 pm to get, I think a basketball out of there yard. Sure enough, cops come (they called the cops over literally any small thing...)

Anyway, I end up having to follow the cops to the courthouse to get fingerprinted and a ticket.. They also decided to take this all the way to court! So since the law changed and I openly admitted to going to MY belonging off their property, I still went onto their property without permission... So now I have a trespassing charge because of an a-hole neighbor!

PJ has his dog tied up for a reason...he certainly doesn't want you to pet the thing. Next time, don't invite your mother-in-law.

In the old days, an arse kicking would be in order
Then a cross burning
Nowadays, they want to put you in Leavenworth for that type of thing...

Hard to put myself in that situation, but I guess I would hook up my trailer and move to a "less trashy" trailer park.
