This is the sad part..... he wasn't making shite selling cds .... he was a pointer for drug traffic..... he had a record a mile long.... I'm sorry and I am NOT being sensitive.... he was a total loser as a human being.... it's sad the way his life ended, but he KNEW the rules he was supposed to follow.....
And yes I believe the family is doing way better now that he is dead then they were when he was alive.....

I see them getting anywhere between 950k - 2 million settlement all funded by guess who? the lovely tax payers of EBR parish.

I'll answer. They would rather him dead.
Was this guy any use to society, let alone his family?

I've got a serious question for Alton Sterling's family. I don't mean to be insensitive, but in all honesty, Would they rather Alton still be alive and selling CDs in the middle of the night, OR have the $700k they received from the Go Fund Me nonsense?
I think I know the answer.
They cared about him so much, they let him live in a church-run homeless shelter. THAT'S how much they wanted him around.
Alton didn't become important to these people until he got shot. Then he became (excuse the pun) a gravy train.

The battle over what will be deemed an appropriate amount will be extremely interesting. SWB, Chauna, et al will be pushing to pay the AS family as much money as possible. I bet they square off with the city attorneys big time.

Of the 11 that showed up, I think two were from Baton Rouge. Our peoples ain't got time for all dat.
I give credit where due to the people in this city who don't participate in this tomfoolery. It seems there's at least a baseline intelligence here
And the fact that it's too hot

I believe he was living in some sort of church shelter at the time of his death. The family didn't even care to bring him into their own homes.

The majority, probably more than 90%, of the local black population don't care about this nonsense. He was dealing drugs, had a gun, fighting with cops, etc. They know more so than white people that's a recipe for disaster

Dude had eight fricking violent convictions, multiple domestic abuse charges

If he were white, they wouldn't have wasted the energy to opine at all.

Question for the board and anyone who knows. Were the results of the toxicology report on Alton Sterling ever released or made public? I don't recall seeing anything about that, or hearing any discussion of it. Seems strange. Considering his record and his actions in fighting the cops and not being slowed by a Taser, I'm guessing he was definitely on something that night.
Anyone know? Thanks.

So what does he want to do?

I don't think they released it, but I'm not sure. I don't think it has any bearing on the situation anyway. He started resisting when the cops attempted to pat him down for weapons on his right side (where the weapon was located). From there, he continued to resist to the point where he was on the ground and reaching for the weapon in his right pocket. That's when they shot him. A toxicology report doesn't really influence much in the investigation.

Selling drugs
Homeless
Felon with gun
Threatening people with said gun
5+ kids that he doesn't take care of
Yea I'm gonna guess he isn't straight edge. Regardless, I don't think it's a kicker
