Verne was in late stages of senility. Don't hate the man but damn he sucked commentating on LSU games with all the mistakes in names of football players or final calls.

Did you every hear Verne call a Bama game? Verne had a special " Touchdown AAAALLLLLAAAABAMA!!!" He was absolutely sickening calling an Alabama game. He was on another level of man love for Saban and the tide.
He wasn't a fanboy of any other teams I'd agree. Verne sure did love him some Alabama.
