When I think of Lovecraft, I think of the Cthulhu Mythos. I have never seen (I know, shame on me) Re-animator, but I have heard/read enough about it that I assumed that it had no dealings with any ancient old ones...
I think I remember a Dagon movie, but it was pretty cheesy. Will have to check that bad boy out in the future.

Agreed. The Sequel gets more into a bit. The first one - certainly not.

Well....sadly yes.
I do wish someone would do a real mythos film, but good representations of that are left to video games and board games.
