I'm not talking about being injured during most of their college time or because of being stuck behind someone on the depth chart like Tom Brady or Matt Cassel had to do. And I'm not counting those that changed sports like Jimmy Graham or Antonio Gates.

NFL: the player that comes to mind for me is Danielle Hunter. I'm sure it's a bunch of runningbacks that struggled in college but made it big in the NFL. I didn't think he was bad But the production wasn't there. Hunter comes to mind probably from being an LSU fan.

Another LSU players I thought was bad in college but ended up having a somewhat decent career is Wade Richey. My memory may be wrong on this one.

I don't know enough about the players in college in the other sports to list right now.

Who do y'all think are the best pros that weren't very good in college?

Josh Donaldson. Though I wouldn't say he was terrible in college, just not near what he has been in the bigs.

He's not a HOF by any means but I'm surprised Mike Wallace has been successful in the NFL. Never really put it all together at Ole Miss but he's done very well for himself in the NFL

I know Sam Cassell was a very good college player for Florida St, but I didn't think many saw him having a 15 year NBA career, averaging 16ppg, 6ast & 3reb. Damn solid numbers & career. I may be wrong though....

Andre Drummond wasn't anything special in his one year in college.

Not necessarily the best but Deshea Townsend did very little of consequence at Alabama before having a solid pro career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I was always surprised to see Danny McCray in the league after being constantly abused by receivers and LSU fans in college.

Danielle Hunter was a damn good DE, played the run very well. He was simply undercoached by Haley in a poor scheme for his talents

We all knew he was a sick athlete so because the sack numbers weren't there the misnomer is that he underperformed

Russell Shepard

Spencer Ware thus far has done better in the NFL than I thought he would.

Never saw Jake Delhomme in college but I'm sure nobody expected him to be a starting QB in the league much less lead a team to the Super Bowl.

Ryan Clark

Perry Riley

Tom Brady is the #1 answer here

To clarify I read your post but it wasn't just he was stuck behind someone. He really wasn't all that great or good for that matter.

I mean, even Russell Westbrook wasn't that great in college. He barely played as a freshman and scored 12 points a game in his 2nd and final year.

Deandre Jordan was nothing special either.

For football, Robert Kelley and Thomas Rawls had pretty mediocre careers, Rawls barely saw the field before he transferred to CMU.

Trevor Siemian was splitting time his senior year at Northwestern and got a legit first string NFL QB job. Joe Flacco's college career was pretty unspectacular. His IAA stats at Delaware weren't that good even.

Robbie Gould wasn't even an above average college kicker and had one of the greatest NFL careers ever.

Matt Cassel rode the pine a lot at USC.

I think Sam Shields was a WR most the time in college, switched to CB late.

Then as most know Edelman was an option QB that converted in the league.

Otis Sistrunk is one of those rare players who never played college football. He went from high school to the marines to semi pro for 2 years. Then the Raiders. Used to list his alma mater as The university of mars after Alex Karas made that statement on a Monday night football broadcast.

DeAndre Jordan was weak sauce his one year at A&M. He wasn't even a starter for a good chunk of the year.
