I remember it being pretty big at the time of its release. Was on the Terminator 2(I think) soundtrack and the video got a TON of play on MTV.
Wasn't as big as Don't Cry or November Rain, but probably the 3rd biggest on the Use Your Illusion albums.

If I recall, that became their first single during the summer of '91. I thought it was big. Think back to how big T2 was.
I think GNR just made a shite ton of videos off of those albums. 6 months later, "Don't Cry" got huge...6 months after that it became "November Rain"...then "Estranged". Of all of the videos they did in that damn near 3 year period, I'd say "You Could Be Mine" was their 4th biggest. Throw in all of the others: "Garden of Eden", "Live and Let Die", "Yesterdays"...all they did was make videos.

I'll never understand what anybody ever saw in those albums. To me "Civil War" was the only song on them that made me go back and listen twice. My then GF/ now wife bought them on vinyl on the day of release and we still have them in our record collection, clean as a whistle. I've maybe listened to them all the way through twice.
Even "Civil War" makes me want to turn it off when it kicks into the Vegas-revue double time part toward the end.
