The outlook isn't that grim. Will we keep AD forever? Doubt it, but we'll likely get more for him when he wants to leave than we got for CP3 when he departed.
I'm going to enjoy the heck out of this season. My kid is a senior this coming year, then he's off to LSU. We bought season tickets right after we landed Boogie, then upgraded them a bit a couple weeks later. This will probably be our last year for season tickets since my wife doesn't like weekday games. It's just me and my son going. Will the Pels ever be a prime FAA destination and contend for the title? Doubt it, but this year we'll battle for a 4-6 seed and be competitive against just about anyone. My son and I wil enjoy watching AD/DC to the fullest this year though and enjoy the ride.

when has the NBA not had super teams? Every team that has won a championship outside of the Wallace Billups Pistons has had at least 2 hall of famers on the team, and that team had all 5 starters make the all-star team. and you could pretty much say the same for the team that played them in the championship game except for teams like Iverson's Sixers, or LeBron's Cavs from 10 years ago.

You pretty much have to have 2 Hall of Fame level players to sniff a legit shot at winning a championship.

I think AD will sign the DPE, then he can ask for a trade the next year if he wants out. Him locked up for 4 years would make him much more valuable and he gets his 35% contract.

Dell won't let AD or Cousins walk without accumulating a shite ton of first round picks.

How am I supposed to believe a guy that has been allergic to draft picks for pretty much his whole tenure here will all of a sudden be able to acquire a shite ton?

Dell is more likely to drag his feet until they leave for nothing or very minimal value

Because if Boogie walks, Dell will be fired and we will hire Sam Hinkie.

If you can't do well with AD/Cousins, what makes you think 3/4 draft picks will be promising?

by the time those draft picks are made, it would be by a new gm and coach

And what are the odds of landing a fringe top 5 player and another top 15 ish player with 3-4 draft picks?

2%? That's probably being generous.

If the Pels don't do good enough to make Boogie sign an extension you might as well cash AD in for all those Boston picks. He won't be staying with a franchise that can't build around him.
