currently looking into a single engine offshore boat

Avoid getting a single engine if you can man.

I have a deep V Sea Hunt single engine. It goes out 50 miles fine in 1-2s. It's just that I have to ask someone else with a boat to come with me every time I want to go out.

It's really reliable, but it's just so dangerous to do it without a buddy boat. I used to do it all the time when I was younger. But now that all my friends are married & have kids, I don't invite them because of the guilt I'd feel if God forbid anything bad would happen.

If you can swing it, try to get something with dual engines.
If not, frick it, southbound and hammer down
