trying to tell a friend who's up there now about a rib joint that I used to go to, it's just north and west, by a few blocks, of where State and Rush converge, it's like in an old house, sort of like the typical old neighborhood bar, the front is a bar, with some seating for dining and the back is a big dining room, their claim to fame(like a lot of places there,) was that Sinatra and his entourage would eat there often and he would have one of his goons guard the payphone so as not to form a big crowd, can picture it, could walk there from the Indigo, but I can't think of the name of it, can anyone help? TIA

My bad... my friend's husband took over as exec chef back in late 2013/early 2014, so I associate it with that. LaStoria and Bigg's next door both opened even after that (owned by the same group), so that was my line of thinking.

Are you thinking it is more Old Town or Gold Coast? Now I'm curious.

Pump Room in the general area, but not a rib place.

Miller's Pub i am pretty sure is what you are thinking of, but it is south of the river

Joe's Stone house is damn good. G&G and Chop house are Sinatra hang-outs and the reason I posted them for the OP, but Joe's would be my favorite for those listed.
