I see it more as a penalty for losing. As you mentioned, if UF/OSU had not lost friday you'd have ace vs. ace in Game 1. If you lose games you'll have to go deeper into the pen. I think it's fair

I agree with this. I think the format isn't ideal but it's the best compromise.
