I still can't wrap my head around this.

I still can't get around the fact that Babe's director (Chris Noonan) was nominated for Best Director while Apollo 13's director (Ron Howard) was not.

It also irks me that Babe won for Visual Effects over Apollo 13.

Babe had some pretty amazing special effects for it's time. I'd say Ron Howard screwed out of a nomination by another director.

I can't get around that its sequel was directed by George Miller.

Michael Mann deserved an Oscar nomination for Heat a lot more than that hack Ron Howard.
